Hi, I'm Kari AKA "the girl with the hair and the camera". I am a 28 year old, coffee, travelling, creative loving gal - who can be found with a camera in her hand 99% of the time! I have a wonderful husband (Timothy) whom I married in October 2021. Together we have six fur-babies (1 dog and 5 cats). You can find Tim running around behind the scenes of many of my photoshoots, or second shooting weddings with me!

I am the owner of not only D.E. Photography but also two other fun businesses (Ember & Co. and Picture Perfect Pop-up's). I have been the owner of D.E. Photography for 12 years now and loved every second of it!

My love for photography started at a very young age. Growing up, I would always take the family camera and shoot everyday photos of family and nature. My father saw my interest (or was tired of me sneaking the family camera away) and in 6th grade got me my first camera. It was a small pink camera and nothing super special, but to me it was everything.

 

Fast forward to high school, I was about to begin photography classes; So, my father got me my first professional grade camera. I started taking classes, which led to me taking sweet 16 photos for friends. 

 

The name Dainty Exposures was born when we were "practicing having businesses" for a class and had to pick out a name. Little did I know, this wasn't just "practice" for me! I began booking sweet 16 sessions, which turned into prom, graduation photos and my very first wedding the summer after graduation!

 

After high school, I tried my hand at Psychology classes and a "real" job. When the itch for photography just wouldn't go away, in 2019 I took the plunge into it as my full time job and haven't looked back since! In 2022, I rebranded to the name D.E. Photography to start anew, but pay homage to the "Dainty Exposures" that built me.
